  • broken back

This entire last week I have been up to my neck in custom paintings, purchase orders and new customers. To say I've looked haggard would be an understatement but thankfully I have a husband who tells me I'm beautiful even when my face looks like it got ran over and I'm still in his sweats by 6pm (three days in a row…). I am so grateful for this and wouldn't change it for the world. I love every single person who comes across my page and trusts me with their sentimental, hand-painted gifts they give to their loved ones. These photos are besides the point, except that this was a day I had a hunch back from painting for 8 hours straight without a break. So, this was a necessary (and mandatory) time to pick one of the last standing roses from mom's rose bushes. It's all the little things that make me happy.

Andrew & Celeste Wedding from Caitlyn Cutler Videography on Vimeo.

For those who want to sap with me (at least 15 times a day), here is our wedding video created by our talented friend. We got married exactly six months ago, so obviously I'm in full reminisce mode. I am so lucky to have married my best friend forever. I will always cherish this video capturing our everyday lives and special day - she used us as her guinea pigs to make a wedding video unlike all the others and brought out our personalities perfectly. Enjoy!

  • photo vs. painting

Custom work is the work I value most, especially since each individual item is hand painted by me carefully and send off to their owner for forever. So basically, anyone who's bought a custom painted piece by me, has a little piece of my heart hanging in their home with them. This specific piece is a good representation of how I transfer your image or idea into my own idea of how the watercolor speaks to me. The first image is what the client sent me, and the second photo is my final product. My clients are the cutest!

pray for paris and those who are in mourning throughout this last week's tragedies. my heart is broken from all the evil in the world. especially lately. i am grateful for the gospel to remind me there is still hope. if we steadfast and hold tight to what we believe, you know these things are all for a reason. i am holding my loved ones extra tight tonight.
